Chris Colfer has signed a two book deal with Little, Brown & Company who will publish two novels penned by the Glee star, the first of which is set to be released in the summer of 2012. Gleeks who follow Chris on Twitter knew something was in the works when he tweeted “I have a big announcement coming soon! A project I’m very excited about!” yesterday. And now we can all be very excited with him! The first novel… read more »
So apparently most of the cast of Glee got on a private jet (the Phoenix Suns’ private jet no less) to head from LA to Minneapolis for their Glee Live Tour show with no books to keep them occupied, a strong wi-fi signal, and their Twitter accounts locked and loaded. What ensued can only be described as a Glee Cast Twitter Riot at 35,000 Feet! So for those of you not inclined to the world of tweeting, it seemed worth… read more »
Meet Todrick Hall, the guy who really wants to be on Glee and made an incredible video to prove it! He was good enough to chat with us at sillygleek before he began a busy day so we could learn more about him: where he came from, who he wants to be, how awesome his mom is, and where he thinks that Glee fits into all of that. Since we spoke, two Glee cast members, Josh Sussman and Amber Riley, have tweeted his video! Read on to learn who are his favourite characters on… read more »
This is a truly amazing post by Racheline Maltese on her blog Letters From Titan that explores the character of Kurt Hummel and the journey he’s taken over the course of the second season of Glee. On the surface it asks a variant of a question that I myself when I first saw a photo taken of Chris Colfer sporting the purple and black fur epaulette and hat ensemble last month: “Why is Kurt Hummel dressed like a… read more »
The Tufts Beelzebubs want you! The Bubs (the voices behind our beloved Dalton Academy Warblers) are recording their next album (a fully Bubs album, not a Warblers Album) and they want YOUR help! And this is no small thing… until now, the only non-Bubs to record with them have been Darren Criss and Chris Colfer! So here’s your chance! The song is “Kings and Queens” by 30 Seconds to Mars and the Bubs need a whole… read more »
MINOR SPOILER ALERT! While this video clip does not give away any important plot developments, it is a complete musical number from the episode, so if you want to keep it all new for yourself, don’t watch this clip so that you get the complete experience tomorrow! The countdown to the season 2 finale of Glee is on! In 24 hours, the Glee “New York” experience will be well underway for the Eastern and Central time… read more »
Darren Criss is looking both debonair and dapper (a word very often used in the blogosphere/twitterverse to describe his Glee alter-ego Blaine) in a GQ fashion spread dubbed their “Wedding Primer”. Sporting a multitude of wedding-appropriate outfits and photographed by Kai Z. Feng, Darren goes from dorky-chic to the classically handsome tailored tuxedo. For all the Darren Criss fangirls out there, there’s hardly a photo… read more »
Well, it’s exciting and a little bit sad at the same time. The season 2 finale, aptly titled “New York” is nearly upon us. And we’re getting to hear what our favorite McKinley High glee kids are going to be singing at Nationals… it’s another New Directions original called “Light Up The World”. The song has a very similar sound to “Loser Like Me” from Regionals. It also doesn’t focus on any one soloist, which we… read more »
Chris Colfer is set to appear on CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight (Monday, May 23 at 9pm ET/PT). This video clip was posted as a teaser for what we can expect from the interview. And I can’t even… I don’t even have the words to describe how much respect and admiration I have for him after watching this. Not that I’ve made any secret about how HUGE a fan of his I’ve always been. But this. This takes it to another… read more »
This behind-the-scenes look at “Funeral” focuses on the less somber, if not exactly happy, aspects of this week’s episode of Glee. Specifically, it centers on the continued presence of Jesse St. James (Jonathan Groff), now hired as a “consultant” to help New Directions prepare for Nationals. Groff is duly impressed by the amazing talents of Naya Rivera (Santana) and Amber Riley (Mercedes) who both filmed their solos,… read more »
SPOILER ALERT: This clip contains minor spoilers for the episode “Funeral”. The overall point of the clip was directly referenced in last week’s episode and has been featured in several previews for the episode, but if you have managed to avoid all of those up until this point, be warned! If you don’t want to know anything going into tomorrow’s episode, do not read further or watch the clip! The return of Jesse St…. read more »
Another song to be featured in “Funeral”, this coming Tuesday’s episode of Glee, is Rachel (Lea Michele) singing “My Man” from Funny Girl, a musical with her idol Barbra Streisand in the lead. Like with “Pure Imagination” it’s hard to imagine the context in which the song will be used given that the episode’s title is “Funeral” and is likely to have some very somber themes. But I guess that’s just part of the… read more »
More music from “Funeral”, the upcoming episode of Glee set to air on Tuesday, May 17. Here, Mercedes (Amber Riley) belts out her version of the classic song “Try A Little Tenderness”. While the song has been covered by artists as varied as Tina Turner, Etta James, Frank Sinatra, Rod Stewart, and Michael Bublé, this cover seems to match Otis Redding’s version most closely, though adjusted to work for Amber Riley’s… read more »
While the mystery of who the “Funeral” for next week’s episode of Glee will be for remains a mystery, at least we get to enjoy some of the music to be featured. New Directions will perform “Pure Imagination” from the 1971 film “Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory” (based on the children’s novel Charlie & The Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl). In it, it seems like just about everyone gets their shot at a few solo… read more »
